CAPonLITTER, Fuerteventura
Personalised support for up to 15 hotels, free downloadable tools in Spanish and local directory of suppliers of alternative products and sustainable businesses.
Thanks to a joint project with the University of Las Palmas and EcoAqua, as part of the CAPonLITTER project which is funded and supported by Interreg Europe, The Cabildo of Fuerteventura and the Patronato of Fuerteventura, Travel Without Plastic was able to provide personalised support for up to 15 hotels on the island, with a view to helping them to implement strategies and practical actions to reduce single-use plastic.

Comprehensive single-use plastic audits were conducted, along with cost and consumption assessments, to provide hotels with a clearer understanding of the waste generated and the financial implications of single-use plastic products.

Each hotel received a personalized report featuring a Top 10 list and tailored recommendations for change, prioritizing the elimination of single-use plastics and transitioning to multi-use alternatives.

Other hotels on the island benefit from free access to the Let's Reduce Single-Use Toolkit created specifically for Fuerteventura, and the Directory of Alternatives which prioritizes local suppliers from the Canary Islands.
